The version that exists today is simply the latest release built upon all of the previous versions.

I like the concept of "versions" you wrote about. That's an interesting way to look at identity. And it makes sense. We are continually evolving based on our experiences and circumstances.

The software analogy is also good regarding what parts, or "features", of ourselves we present to others depending on the context. How we interact with co-workers vs family members for example.

Anyway, a deep subject for sure. Enjoyed chatting with you about it.
