Sketchbook
I’ve had a lifelong interest in visual art. I love to draw using traditional mediums like graphite, ink, and watercolor.
Over the years, I’ve filled dozens of sketchbooks. My favorite brand is Hand Book. Their drawing journals are well made and can handle most any medium.
These days, I mostly sketch with Micron ink pens. I use watercolor washes to add color and texture. I'm always experimenting with new supplies.
From Paper To Pixels
Sometimes, I scan sketchbook pages and create digital versions on my iPad. I like this workflow because it allows me to work with physical and digital tools. Having all the original drawings in a sketchbook for reference is nice, too.
Below are more examples. They all began as paper sketches, were scanned, imported into Procreate as a base layer, and then redrawn digitally.
