The Joy Of New Experiences
Over the weekend I had my first experience of axe throwing. I loved it. I learned a new skill and spent time with family and friends.
There was definately a learning curve, but we had an excellent instructor that had us nailing the targets in no time.
As I’ve gotten older, outings like this have become less frequent. And that’s a shame because they are important.
We all need things to look forward to. There’s a joy that comes from learning something new, and doing activities with others keeps relationships strong.
I have plenty of opportunities, but I’m guilty of making excuses. I can always find a reason not to do something. And if you always say no, people stop asking.
I want to change my mindset because I need more real-life engagement with the people I care about. We’re social creatures, after all.
This is why I’m spending less time online. I have a strong desire to do things in the physical world. I feel like I’ve lost something, and I want to get it back.
