Write Like You Talk

Write like you talk has a deeper meaning than it might initially seem. It not only suggests that we should use common language in an easy-to-understand way, but also that our writing should flow naturally—it should be us on the page, not a mask of ourselves. — Meadow

I’m doing my best to follow this advice.

My goal is to write authentically. It should reflect how I would be in a face-to-face conversation.

As I write, I imagine speaking with a good friend over coffee.

Before clicking publish, I always listen to my words using Safari's "listen to page" function. I make changes if the flow seems awkward.

Most of my writing experience has been in the corporate world, creating technical documents. Blogging is entirely different.

I'm still learning to relax and be myself.
